Setchin-gami

The god, or monster, of the privy. An Edo dialogue book reports it as a fierce deity whose victims, if they stumble on the way back, sicken as with an epidemic fever and die within days, and gives a charm for it — untie your sash and go home — which it marks at once as uncertain. In the same paragraph it names two more occupants of the same small room: the Chinese privy deity Zigu, who is a murdered mistress, killed in a latrine on the fifteenth of the first month and worshipped every first month thereafter; and the esoteric Buddhist king Ususama, associated with fire and with the burning away of impurity.
